Jack lived with us while he worked with me in Vallejo and I have marvelous humorous memories of him of his incredible dedication to legal services clients.
But the one that always stays in my mind was when we doing a mock trial and showing how to properly lay a foundation for physical evidence in a UD trial. Jack had the witness lay a foundation for the evidence for habitability violations and vermin. Then he took out a jar with huge black things and asked the witness to identify them--the witness said "those are rat turds". At that moment all the baby attorneys watching jumped back about two feet. --- Really they were just huge stuffed olives--but everyone was sure they were the genuine item.--and I'm sure they remembered how to lay a foundation for physical evidence.
